I don’t gatekeep from my people! Here’s some un-fancy truths I wish I knew earlier.
*disclaimer: not everything is for everyone, these are just some things that might help you!
Start taking care of your skin. Yesterday. At the very least, sunscreen in am, mild retinol at night, and moisturize. I’m sure TikTok has some recs ;) or the Derm.
Put everything on autopay. *I’m not saying don’t check your credit card bill. You’d be surprised what may be on there! I’m saying put things on autopay, so you don’t get late fees.
If possible, pay your credit cards off every month.
Put any amount of money in an IRA for the future. Compound interest is Einstein’s Eighth Wonder of the World. It can be $20 a month. Just do it.

Don’t be easily influenced. Try to consume less online. Trust yourself more.
When I don’t like something, I give myself 24 hours to return it!! Package it up that night, print the return label, go put it in the car!!!
Recognize your habits, good or bad. Once you step back and see what your tendencies are, it’s easier to change them- for the better or not!
Common Habits I see in myself:
Bad Habit: Procrastinating dumb tasks like doing the dishes. Enter TikTok’s Kylie Perkins!
Good Habit: (this one came painfully) Getting up 20 mins earlier than necessary to prep my day, feed the dog, and not be rushed. Often I work on my student’s needs then too.
Bad Habit: Saying YES to “extra” things during the week. Codie Sanchez has a rule for herself that I’ve adopted: 99.9% of the time, I don’t do anything I’m invited to on a “school night.” Now that I turn down things like this, I actually don’t miss any of it! Hers is the only podcast I LOVE. Check it out here.
Good Habit: Get the hardest thing off my To-Do List FIRST. This makes the whole day go easier, downhill. After forcing myself to do this, I now don’t even hesitate! I pick up the chart that’s most complicated, I call back the owner that has the most (or hardest) questions, FIRST. After that, I fit it all in and I know it’s an easy day!
Ask for help when you need it. This may be from your professor, your friend, your parents or guardian.
If you need help applying/reapplying to Vet School, I’m your gal.
I will meet with you (for free), talk through your needs, and if I can help you, I’ll tell you about my Mentorship, which will guide you through the Application Process, so you can put your blinders on and worry about what really moves the needle for you. And nothing more.
Hit this button to meet up. And I hope these “Life Tips” help :)
