GPA- the real nitty gritty
ughhhhh
I know.
The GPA talk.
Figuring out / looking at your GPA is similar to going through your bank account.
Most people dread it.
So let’s break it down.
Why do you dread making budget? Why do you dread figuring out your GPA?
Because it sucks to look at your “failures”. Your weaknesses. Parts of your past that were hard.
Guess what makes it easier?
Getting it over with. Just like most chores, it takes up way more space in your brain procrastinating the task… than just doing the task.
So, let’s calculate your GPA and see where you stand, and how it impacts:
whether you hit the required minimum to apply
where you “match up” in regards to each vet school’s average admitted GPA
what you can do to bring it up
How do I calculate my total GPA?
Some of you have it very simple- if you have only taken classes at one undergrad institution, it’s at the bottom of your transcript.
If you have taken classes at several college, community colleges, online classes, and even High School AP credits… You have to add them all into a GPA calculator.
TIPS:
If you have a W, do not even add it.
If you have a WF, it calculates as an F.
Count every single course. If you retook it, both classes count.
If you go to a school with “quarters” … The conversion ratio is 1.0 quarter hour = 0.667 semester hours.
